I am a born again Christian which to me means that I know I'm a sinner, deserved to go to hell but Jesus died on the cross and when I repented, he washed those sins away.
Now, lets get to the praying part. My daddy suffered from different maladies from October to Mid February and then he passed. We prayed earnestly for him, I had friends and people who didn't even know our family, praying for him, yet God still took him. What good does prayer do if God's will is going to be done anyway? To see if we have enough faith? I just don't understand and probably never will.
There should be a disclaimer on prayer......I will pray for you but if it's God's will for you to go home, I'm sorry.....I did all I could.
Lord Jesus, please forgive my questions. Help me to have more faith. I am just still grieving for a great man that is with you now.

Alan Smithee avoids praying for specific outcomes, but asked instead to be shown the way.
That's a great idea. That's what I should have done so I wouldn't be let down so hard.
